Working with the renovation design team, we created and installed a custom built joinery package complete with LED lighting, 22 new workstations underlit with LED lighting, renovated two bathrooms, new floors throughout, updated the lighting and a full internal refurbishment followed by external redecoration.

Using our experience in commercial fit refurbishments, we created a workable schedule to ensure we completed the renovation within the 9 day limit. The salon opened for business on the agreed day with a client that was very happy with the exterior and interior refurbishment.

Part of the interior refurbishing task was to install karndean flooring to the salon (see pictures below). As karndean flooring has very specific laying needs, down to the adhesive used, our expert refurbishment team carried out the job carefully and seamlessly working around the 24 hour ‘no traffic’ period required after laying the floor to ensure it set correctly with no warps or movement but did not impact the project timeframe.

The interior renovation included a bespoke joinery package incorporated the building and fitting of specially designed salon and shelving units, seen in one of the pictures below. The project also required the fitting of two new bathrooms for the Knightsbridge salon including bathroom suite fitting and plumbing, tiling and flooring as well and painting and decorating.

The Invisible Painter is carrying out a decorative restoration project next to Horse Guards Parade in London. We have been using a product called PeelAway7® (http://www.peelaway.co.uk) to remove years of paint build up from 200 yr old cornicing and coving. This process required great patience to carefully remove all of the paint without damaging the decorative finish. This job required not only paint removal and plasterwork restoration of cornicing and coving, but also stripping down the balustrades and stone steps throughout the property.

This is part of a 1 million pound refurbishment of the property, and all works have been agreed with Westminster Heritage to ensure we are meeting their expectations. The works have taken over 3 months to complete, and have left the client delighted with the finish.

One of the facts that not everyone understands is that a lime wash is not a painting technique, although it may be applied with paintbrushes. In fact, the lime wash is more of a staining technique. The properties of the lime seep into the pores of the masonry and effectively become part of the material. Over time, the natural ageing process will give the lime wash a certain glossy patina that is considered to be very attractive.
